Snowtill Organics – Snow Plum

Genetics: (GSC x East Bay Sherbert) x Covelo Sour Diesel

Bag Appeal: Snowtill grows picturesque weed and I had the pleasure of being able to pick from his entire lineup for this review. While his Motorbreath and Go-Time are tried and true classics, dialed to near perfection, the Snow Plum instantly caught my eye with its swollen angular buds that fade from bright emerald to a lush sangria. Bred by Aurora Genetics, the Snow Plum, which is ostensibly a recreation of gelato crossed to a worked diesel line, brings a modern frosted quality to the massive jagged stack of brachts typical of diesel. The nugs are delicately trimmed and each calyx is paired with a parcel of ginger pistils.

Aroma: The Snow Plum is the most unique terp I’ve encountered this year – a sort of dark stone-fruit ambrosia. Intensely sour with a dried apple and plum smell, the Snow Plum was clearly selected to highlight the more piquant elements of the Covelo Sour and Sherb. Notes of dried cranberries come out during the breakdown, comforting and evocative of my favorite autumn memories.

Flavor: The vigorous aroma translates into a tart taste that is reminiscent of certain cuts of Blueberry, complemented by a pleasant bitterness from the ample anthocyanins. The Snow Plum does burn dark, but as a good friend acerbically said, “It’s a total mindfuck because it smokes wonderfully!” The plum and cranberry flavor concentrates as the joint burns at a comfortably low temperature, which gives the terps an almost vaporized effect. Grown in no-till living soil, the Snow Plum offers a dynamic entourage profile that is functional and productive. The gentle body high is paired with a shade of clear headed euphoria – well suited for any time of day. My understanding is that the Snow Plum is a living project between Snow Till and Aurora, and I look forward to seeing Snow Till take this pheno to its genetic potential in the near future.
