The Love Compound Ranch – Rambutan

Genetics: Papaya x GuavaZ #74

Bag Appeal: The Love Compound Ranch has released a series of pristine looking flower this year and the Rambutan is no exception. The massive lime green spears have Winston Murdoch and Spilary’s signature look. The loose bracts are obscured by an obscene presence of healthy bronze pistils. Bits of color emerge near the sugar leaves and the amber trichomes give the nugs a ripe glow.

Aroma: Both Papaya and GuavaZ are genetics with which I am decently familiar and The Love Compound Ranch’s selection brings out the best of each. Earlier this summer, I had some masterfully grown GuavaZ by @saintetiennegrows3.0 and the chutney funk was too much for my palette. The pairing with Papaya replaces any raunchy background noise with a bright bubblegum terp. The jar smells like a pack of Fruit Stripe that had been left out in the summer sun; sugary and fruity in a particularly cloying way. Honeydew comes out on the back end, providing even more intrigue to a powerful terp.

Flavor: The Rambutan’s aroma translates fantastically to taste. As the flavor settles, there is an uncanny resemblance to a Melon Hi-Chew, with a flush fructose sweetness. Rolled up, the Rambutan burns bone white and yields an impressive resin ring. As the joint burns down, the flavor becomes almost caramelized, like a generic bubblegum ice cream. The Rambutan is delightful smoke, but the effects are elusive. Modest headchange and pleasant relaxation follow every joint. The mood enhancing qualities are satisfying, but don’t expect any lumbering or psychedelic effects.
