Kapow – Melon Berries

Genetics: Unknown

Bag Appeal: Kapow’s Melon Berries is fairly unassuming. The large nugs are mostly green and speckled with Kapow’s signature purple.  Each bract is slathered in a visually rich resin. Fairly uniform in shape, the dense buds are constructed of tightly bound calyxes that are tightly manicured and perfectly cured.

Aroma: The Melon Berries is one of the most fragrant jars I’ve had the pleasure of smelling. The aroma feels similar to well-grown Lemon Tree, with a concentrated acidity that almost stings the nose. Unlike other similar cultivars that tend to be either gassy or purely sweet, the Melon Berries has underlying notes of fruit punch, which adds some organic warmth to an otherwise sharp aroma.

Flavor: More complex than its aroma, the initial inhale from the Melon Berries is dominated by a mouth-puckering sour. Underneath the tart inhale is a very full sweetness that reminds me of Papaya. The flavor is delicious until the very end, and the even burn of the Melon Berries undoubtedly contributes to its retention of flavor. The effects are affable and accompanied by a visceral buzz that makes them perfect for social settings.
