Tasty Selections – The Ube

Genetics: Gusher Pie 3 (bred by @_greenfiregenetics) x Açai Berry Gelato BX (bred by @krakengenetix2.0)
Bag Appeal: The Ubé looks like a modern interpretation of old school purps. The beefy nugs have a rich lavender hue that naturally plays against their generally green surface. The massive bract blend together to create the chunky mass that is each bud. Orange pistils and pearly trichomes cover the surface of each nug, giving The Ubé a strong contemporary bag appeal.
Aroma: The Ubé puts an intensified and umami-heavy twist on the classic purps profile. The jar almost smells like a bag of unwashed red grapes – earthy and tart. Bits of a very thin gas exist in the back and any sweetness is secondary to the anthocyanin rich aroma.
Flavor: The inhale on The Ubé is much more complex than I’d expect from the aroma. Bits of traditional Sherb come through, compounding the savory backbone of the smoke. The fruit comes out on the exhale, leaving a black cherry, grape and blackberry aftertaste that is thoroughly enjoyable. A dense resin ring quickly forms on the joint, but the smoke gets a bit harsh near the roach, which is understandable from the first run of a new cut. The effects are as heavy as the flavor. I feel a gentle pressure behind my eyes and a cozy draw down my spine. @grower4life_ did a wonderful job with this initial batch and I can’t wait to see The Ubé as it gets increasingly dialed.
